Media personality and NPP communicator Afia Pokua Known as Vim Lady, has waded into the ongoing presidential jet debate, urging the National Democratic Congress to apologize for what she describes as unnecessary politicking during the tenure of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to her, the NDC’s previous criticisms and grandstanding over the presidential jet issue have now come full circle, with the current administration facing similar challenges.
She believes that before the state moves forward to purchase a new aircraft for President Mahama, the NDC should first acknowledge its role in the matter.
“The NDC should apologize for politicizing the presidential jet unnecessarily during President Akufo-Addo’s tenure so that we can move forward and purchase a new one for President Mahama,” she stated.
Her comments reflect the ongoing back-and-forth between the two parties over the use and acquisition of state aircraft.
While the NPP previously faced criticism over the presidential jet, the NDC now finds itself defending its own arrangements.
Vim Lady’s call for an apology is likely to spark fresh debate, but her underlying message is clear:
If the nation is to move forward, political hypocrisy must be left behind.
