The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set September 6, 2025, for its parliamentary primaries in the Tamale Central Constituency ahead of the upcoming by-election.
A statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey outlined the process, indicating that nomination forms will be available only at the Party’s Northern Regional Office.
Aspirants must pay GH¢5,000 for forms and GH¢40,000 as a filing fee, though women and persons with disabilities will enjoy a 50 percent reduction.
Payments are to be made exclusively into the Party’s account at UMB Bank, Adabraka branch.
The timetable released by the NDC opens nominations on August 21 and closes them on August 23, with vetting scheduled for August 26.
The list of cleared aspirants will be made public on August 27, ahead of the primaries on September 6.
The by-election, fixed for September 30 by the Electoral Commission, was necessitated by the death of MP Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed in a helicopter crash on August 6.
