ORAL was a preparatory team — Kwakye Ofosu clarifies

Felix Kwakye Ofosu has clarified the function and continuing impact of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, the team set up to gather allegations of corruption from the public.

According to him, ORAL was never mandated to prosecute or conduct detailed investigations.

It was created as a preliminary information collection body, meant to sift through public submissions and forward credible leads to state agencies.

He revealed that, from thousands of submissions, 280 cases were considered serious enough to be passed to the Attorney General. Investigations, he added, are ongoing:

“Over 80 people have already been interviewed and some granted bail quietly,” he stated in an interview on Metro TV monitored by Lovinghananews.com.

He dismissed claims that the committee’s work had lost relevance, stating that the public may only hear of high-profile names, but every case is being processed.

The Attorney General’s updates, he argued, show that the state is serious about due process, ensuring strong evidence before initiating prosecution.

Kwakye Ofosu urged Ghanaians to remain patient, saying real justice requires thoroughness, not theatrics.
