The Akwatia Police Command, headed by Supt. George Aboagye, in collaboration with the District Chief Executive (DCE), of Akwatia, Hon. Umar Ahmed Tutu, has arrested a group of women suspected of being engaged in prostitution!ion
The arrests were made during a search of properties developed on government lands that had been earmarked for demolition. Authorities discovered a compound believed to be housing the women.
An eyewitness told reporters that the women, who are said to be Nigerians, were allegedly engaging in prost!tut!on within the community.
Prost!tut!on is illegal in Ghana, and the suspects have since been taken into police custody.
They are expected to be arraigned before the court in the coming days.
