In furtherance of efforts to strengthen the historic relations which has existed between Ghana and Saudi Arabia since 1960 for mutual benefit, a General Cooperation Agreement was signed on Monday, 20th October, 2025 by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP) and the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji to serve as framework to guide the relations.
Prior to the consultations, the Vice Minister and his delegation paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
The Honourable Minister stated during his opening remarks that Ghana’s relations with the Kingdom have been characterised by shared commitment for peace and security and development over the years.
The Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in his remarks acknowledged the continuous efforts to strengthen the bond for mutual benefit and promote regional and international peace and security.
