Two suspected military personnel and their two civilian accomplices have been arrested by the Prestea Police in the Western Region during an alleged attempt to rob LongShine Mining Company Limited, a Chinese-owned mine, on Sunday, September 29, at Prestea-Obouhu.
Confirming the incident in an interview with Channel One TV News’ Akwasi Agyei Annim on October 1, the Public Relations Officer of LongShine Mining, Zion Rootman, said the suspects—two military personnel wearing uniforms and two masked civilians—invaded the site in a pickup truck.
However, he narrated that the alert staff quickly contacted the Prestea Police, who rushed to the scene and arrested the suspects, handing them over to the Tarkwa Regional Police Command.
