AFC Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo reached another milestone in his impressive 2024/25 campaign, scoring his first-ever free-kick goal in the Cherries’ thrilling 2-2 draw against Leeds United at Elland Road.

The 25-year-old Ghana international has been in sensational form this season, and his spectacular 26th minute free kick against Leeds perfectly explains why he’s become one of the Premier League’s most sought-after forwards.

Standing over a dead ball situation 20 yards from goal, Semenyo unleashed a powerful low-driven strike that flew under the Leeds wall and left goalkeeper Karl Darlow rooted to his line.

The goal against Leeds marked Semenyo’s fourth strike in just five Premier League appearances this season, maintaining his incredible scoring rate that has captured the attention of England’s biggest clubs.

With six goal involvements in six Premier League games, the versatile forward has been instrumental in Bournemouth’s strong start to the campaign.

It was Semenyo’s fourth goal in five league matches this season, underlining his growing importance to Andoni Iraola’s team.

What makes Semenyo’s achievement even more remarkable is the versatility he brings to Andoni Iraola’s side.

He is immensely versatile and can operate on the right wing, left wing, up front, or just behind the striker.

This adaptability has made him indispensable to Bournemouth’s tactical setup and a nightmare for opposing defenders to mark.

The free-kick goal against Leeds was particularly significant as it represented new territory for the forward.

Throughout his career, Semenyo had built a reputation as a direct, powerful runner who could score from open play, but set pieces had remained an untapped avenue until now.
