The Takoradi-Agona road contractor, Justice Amoh has said government has assured his company, Justmoh Construction Limited of payment of debt soon to enable completion of the ongoing project.

In an interview with TV3 on October 21, he said the rehabilitation and dualization of Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta road have reached a 70% completion.

He is optimistic that of payment is settled as planned, the project will be completed by July 2026.

“All assurances have been given to us and we are hoping that very soon funds will be released to us. You know as of now that I’m speaking we haven’t seen any funds but if all should go well, we will finish this project ahead of time and our target is hopefully next year July we have to finish 100%.

“Currently, we are 70% progress. I’m very sure that the road is going to last,” he stressed.

He further commended government for the initiative to introduce a strict axle weighing regime to halt the deterioration of road networks as a result of overloading of the axle.

He fears if government does not take a stringent decision on the use of the corridor by heavy duty trucks, it will outlive its usefulness in no time.

“One thing that we have also notified the authorities especially the Minister is the axle load you know the axle load can damage the road if we have excessive load plying on the road at a regular distance but if that one is controlled then with us, we are sure that the quality that we have put in place and meeting the specifications, I’m sure that the road will last long,” he stated.
