Three suspects have been remanded into police custody by the Fiapre Circuit Court in connection with the theft of a service pistol at the Ahafo Newmont Mines Company at Ntotroso near Kenyase in the Ahafo Region.
According to a statement issued by the Bono Regional Police Command, the theft occurred on January 13, 2025, involving a Beretta service pistol with registration number GHGP/NHQ/CTD/H78688Z13.
The suspects — Joseph Blackige, 25, Kwabena Dodzi, 44, and Adu Yeboah Abraham, also known as Okwaraji, 46 — were arrested on November 12, 2025, along with an 18-year-old woman, Priscilla Awuni.
Police say an intelligence-led operation conducted by the National Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) led to the arrest of Blackige and Awuni at Ntotroso. A search in Blackige’s room yielded no findings, but during interrogation, he admitted handing over the stolen weapon to Dodzi.
