At a memorial service for slain activist Charlie Kirk, President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk were seen side by side, reigniting speculation of a political reconciliation after their bitter public split.
The two men exchanged handshakes and a brief conversation inside a packed stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where tens of thousands had gathered to honour Kirk, who was fatally shot on September 10 at a Utah university. Musk later posted a photo of himself and Trump seated together, captioning it simply: “For Charlie.”
Their encounter marked a striking turn, given the collapse of their once-close alliance.
Musk, who poured more than $270 million into Trump’s campaign and spearheaded the controversial Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that slashed thousands of federal jobs, broke ranks after condemning the administration’s tax and spending plans as “utterly insane.”
The feud escalated online, with Musk accusing Trump of links to Jeffrey Epstein and Trump threatening to “take a look” at deporting him.
Whether the memorial marked their first private meeting since that rift remains unclear — but the sight of them together has already stirred talk of a potential thaw.
