The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates.

In a statement signed by John K. K. Habeb, Head of Public Affairs, WAEC confirmed that the results are now available on the Council’s official website and urged candidates to access them online.

“A total of 1,661 candidates registered for the examination, comprising 858 males and 803 females, with the exams conducted at 15 centers across the country. Out of this number, 31 candidates were absent,” WAEC stated.

The Council further revealed that results for three candidates have been withheld due to alleged involvement in examination malpractices, pending further investigations.

WAEC advised affected candidates to visit its website and check the withheld/cancelled results portal for details and further instructions on the next steps.

Additionally, the Council cautioned students and the public against engaging with fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee, emphasizing that WAEC results are secure and verifiable.

WAEC expressed appreciation to stakeholders including the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, security agencies, supervisors, and invigilators for their support in the successful conduct of the exams and release of results.
