The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Felix Odartey Lamptey, has disclosed plans to launch a Sanitation Taskforce before the end of August.
The announcement was made when Hon. Lamptey joined the Assembly Member for the Oblogo Electoral Area, Hon. Abdulai Tei Nene, to take part in a community clean-up exercise over the weekend.
According to the MCE, the taskforce will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness on highways, inner roads, and in local communities, while also leading public education campaigns on sanitation.
“Sanitation is a major challenge within our municipality, but I am putting in place pragmatic policies and measures to address the issue,” Hon. Lamptey said.
He added that the initiative will involve close collaboration with community leaders to ensure sustained cleanliness and improved waste management across the municipality.
