We’ll sanction you next time – Gbande warns Ras Mubarak, others

Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has warned Ras Mubarak and other members of the political party over their social media posts.

According to him, what they are currently engaged in is a distraction for the John Dramani Mahama-led administration and will not be condoned.

He says if there is a repeat, they will be sanctioned by the political party because the NDC is not a party that has its affairs being run on social media.

Mustapha Gbande was speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM when he made this known.

“The needless distraction and the conversation around the Chief of Staff is doing this, and this one is doing that. There is no trouble in the NDC. Why are we inviting trouble? The two NDC Ras Mubarak and the MP, the next time they do that we are going to invite them and repremand them,” he said.

He continued, “We don’t run our party on social media. The MP who responded to Ras Mubarak does not understand communications better than the national chairman. This is what brings distraction. The General Secretary is well alive, he is in charge of this party.

He has deputies, myself and Barbara and we are in charge of this party, and we have a national organizer. If something is wrong, we will act upon it. It is not for you to be on social media without talking to your party leadership, you are determining what is legal and illegal. Is he a party officer? We don’t want the party to be rocked with needless distruction”.

It will be remembered that Ras Mubarak while reacting to the decision of the Chairman of the NDC to embark on a Thank You Tour indicated that the Chairman is setting a dangerous precedent.

To him, the tour was needless, especially because the president, who was on the ballot paper had already embarked on one.

However, Asiedu Nketia has defended the decision, indicating that he had his own campaign team and strategy that targeted the very remotest areas in the country; hence, the need for a thank you tour because they accepted his message and voted massively for the party.
