Xiaomi 17 Pro / Pro Max — Key Highlights

Xiaomi has officially teased the design of its upcoming 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max phones, which are among the first devices to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.

The most notable feature is a secondary rear display, dubbed the “Magic Back Screen.”

Purposes of the back screen include:

Displaying different clock faces

Serving as a viewfinder for selfies using the main cameras

Showing app info or graphical designs or artwork

Xiaomi’s previous phone with a back screen was the Mi 11 Ultra (2021), but that display was quite small and limited in function. The new one appears more ambitious and versatile.

Also confirmed: a collaboration with Leica once again for the camera tuning; the Leica logo appears under the rear cameras.
