A fire outbreak on Saturday, February 21, has completely destroyed the children’s ward at the Saboba Assemblies of God Hospital.

According to the hospital’s Nurse Manager, Mr. George Olannba, the fire started at the entrance of the children’s ward before spreading rapidly through the facility.

The Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly to the scene, but challenges with equipment hampered initial efforts to contain the blaze.

Residents in the area intervened to help prevent the fire from spreading to other wards, eventually bringing the situation under control.

At the time of the incident, six children were on admission at the ward. Hospital staff, together with relatives, managed to evacuate all of them safely. The children have since been relocated to the male ward for continued care.
Mr. Olannba, speaking to Citi News, assured that no casualty was recorded.
