Great Ampong is finally setting the record straight on his fallout with the late Daddy Lumba. According to him, it was never about disrespect; it was simply about unpaid debts.
Speaking on UTV’s Atuu with Nana Romeo, Ampong dismissed claims that he ever bad-mouthed the highlife legend.
He said his past comments were deliberate but strictly centered on one thing: the money he was owed.
“If I had said anything unwarranted about him, I’m sure I would regret it now, but that never happened,” he stated.
The issue dates back to their 2015 collaboration on the album *Hosanna*. Ampong claims that Daddy Lumba reached out to him first, eager to collaborate. But after the album’s release, things soured.
He alleges launch proceeds were never shared with him, despite his investment, and the songs were later uploaded onto Lumba’s personal streaming accounts without his consent.
When asked if the debt has since been settled, Ampong said he closed that chapter publicly in 2023 and isn’t interested in revisiting it.
His message remains simple: he was only demanding what was rightfully his.
