Former Vice President and 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has commended the contribution of the party’s New York Chapter as it marked its 33rd anniversary.
In a message shared on social media, Dr. Bawumia reflected on the chapter’s role in strengthening the NPP’s presence in the diaspora.
“I joined the New York Chapter on the occasion of their 33rd Anniversary Celebration. The formation of the New York Chapter played a major role in what has become the formidable NPP USA Branch,” he wrote.
The NPP USA Branch, which now boasts 26 chapters across the United States, has often been described as a key pillar in mobilizing support and resources for the party. Dr. Bawumia stressed the value of their efforts in sustaining the NPP’s mission.
“The dedication and commitment of NPP USA Branch and its 26 Chapters cannot be overlooked in the rebuilding efforts of our great party,” he said.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share in the milestone, he added:
“I am particularly proud to have been part of a night of history.”
The New York Chapter remains one of the oldest and most active diaspora arms of the party, with its anniversary drawing dignitaries, members, and well-wishers from across the United States.
