The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Sam Nartey George, was seen engaging live with an AI assistant during the official launch of Ghana’s National AI Strategy at the Labadi Beach Hotel today.

In the moment captured on video, the minister took part in an interactive demonstration, showcasing how AI tools can be integrated into public engagement and operations. The event marks a key step in Ghana’s efforts to embrace artificial intelligence for national development.

Officials, including President John Dramani Mahama, joined stakeholders at the high-level gathering to outline the country’s roadmap for responsible AI adoption. The strategy aims to modernize governance, boost productivity, improve service delivery, and position Ghana competitively in the global digital economy.

This launch comes amid growing discussions on balancing technological advancement with local needs, such as reliable internet access and creating new job opportunities rather than replacing existing livelihoods. Many view it as a positive move toward innovation while keeping a “human-first” approach.

The demonstration highlighted both the excitement and practical challenges of rolling out AI nationwide.
