Acclaimed British actor Idris Elba has declared Lagos “the most amazing city in the world” during an interview at the prestigious TIFF Tribute Awards.
Speaking with eTalk TV on the red carpet, the Hollywood star expressed profound admiration for Nigeria’s bustling commercial capital, highlighting its vibrant energy and incredible talent pool.
“There are so many memories. Lagos, if you have never been there, is the most amazing place, city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,” Elba enthusiastically shared.
The actor particularly cherished the experience of working with British singer Seal (born Henry Olusegun Samuel) on a project that allowed the musician to embrace his Nigerian heritage through acting. “I got to have Seal acting. He has acted before, but this is one he is acting in his accent. You know, his Nigerian heritage,” Elba revealed.
The actor also highlighted a special musical collaboration between Seal and Nigerian artist Konstance for the film, describing it as one of the standout moments of his Lagos experience.
Elba’s glowing endorsement comes as Nigeria’s entertainment industry continues to gain international recognition for its creative talent and cultural influence.
