The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has strongly condemned an attack on members of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) during an operation at Bronikrom near Hwediem in the Ahafo Region.

According to the Ministry, the incident occurred on Saturday, 1st November 2025, when NAIMOS officers were carrying out an anti-galamsey operation.

“I have been fully briefed on the unfortunate attack, and I strongly condemn the incident,” the Minister said. “We will ensure swift and rigorous investigations to identify and prosecute all those involved.”

Mr. Buah disclosed that he had already met with the Speaker of Parliament and the Minister for the Interior to discuss coordinated measures to address the situation.

“This government remains committed to bringing to book all perpetrators who aid, support, or front the destruction of our environment,” he emphasized.

The Ministry reaffirmed its determination to continue the fight against illegal mining despite the recent attack on its task force.
