Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has vowed that the Minority will firmly resist any attempt to introduce a third presidential term in Ghana.
Speaking at the close of Parliament’s third meeting, he accused the government of using legal loopholes, rushed parliamentary processes, and court actions to quietly stretch executive power beyond constitutional limits.
“There will be no third term by stealth, not under our watch,” he declared.
Afenyo-Markin warned that democracy is being threatened, citing judicial disputes in Kpandai and Suhum and the frequent use of certificates of urgency as signs of weakened parliamentary oversight.
He urged strict respect for the Constitution, due process, and the will of the people.
