Controversial marriage counsellor George Lutterodt has ignited a fresh social media firestorm with his latest assertion that no woman is capable of truly loving her husband, a category in which he includes his own wife.
During a discussion on marital dynamics, Lutterodt argued that what many women perceive as love, such as being protective of their husbands is actually an emasculating act that undermines masculinity.
“There’s no woman who loves her husband, including my wife. The fact that you’re married to a man and decide to protect him doesn’t mean you love him,” he declared. “Any man who allows his wife to protect him has a mental problem.”
He elaborated that a wife who monitors her husband’s movements under the guise of affection becomes a “mother figure,” which he claims stifles a man’s ego and independence. Lutterodt stated that the only woman with legitimate authority over a man is his mother, not his spouse.
The outspoken counsellor concluded by reinforcing his long-held, contentious view of marriage as an authoritarian structure rather than an equal partnership. “No woman can love a man; you can only obey and respect his dictates. A man is always right, and marriage is not a democracy,” he asserted.
These remarks have once again positioned Lutterodt at the center of public debate, drawing widespread criticism for his views on gender roles and the nature of love within marriage.
