Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has strongly denied allegations that he sexually assaulted one of his former domestic workers. He has also announced plans to take legal action against the individual who made the claim on social media.
The controversy began after photos from the 25th birthday celebration of Rudeboy’s wife, Ivy Ifeoma, were shared online. Initial reactions focused on their 18-year age gap, but things escalated when a social media user accused Rudeboy of raping or coercing a domestic worker, whom they described as significantly younger. The person also alleged that Rudeboy asked his wife and sister-in-law to leave the house when the incident came to light.
Rudeboy responded via X (formerly Twitter), labeling the accusations as defamatory and false. He stated that he would use all available means including his power, resources, and money to bring the accuser to justice. He emphasized that the person behind the claims would face legal consequences and that their case would serve as a warning to others.
While some online users have backed his decision to pursue legal action, others have criticized his tone and approach.
