Softcare FM Manufacturing Company, producers of Africa’s most preferred diaper and sanitary pad was declared the overall best industrial company of the year and best Corporate Social Responsibility company of the year, at the 14th Association of Ghana Industries awards held in Accra on Saturday November 29, 2025.

The managing director of the company, Ye Wei, led the delegation of staff to receive the awards presented by the vice president, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman.

Winning the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award, back-to-back, thus, 2024 and 2025, clearly underscores the deliberate transformational initiatives that have been executed by the company to promote social change and impact livelihoods in the country.

According to Frost and Sullivan, Softcare is ranked first in both the baby diaper and the sanitary pad markets in Africa in terms of production volume in 2024. In Ghana, Softcare likewise maintains a leading position in both categories, supported by strong local manufacturing and market penetration with the company, currently exporting to about 30 countries globally, including Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Peru.

These achievements are no surprise as the diaper and sanitary pad producing giant has proven not just a brand but a game changer in household and personal care products globally, over the last two decades.

Speaking at the awards event, the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, noted the focus of this year’s awards program is to drive economic growth and prosperity through targeted initiatives including the 24-Hour Economy Policy.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang, maintained the government’s approach is to back local industries like the Softcare FM manufacturing company, with concrete interventions, targeting fresh investment opportunities in value addition and manufacturing.

She added that the government will prioritise Ghana-made goods in its procurement, improve infrastructure to support exports, and continue to invest in technical and vocational education to provide skilled workers for factories and workshops across the country.

In Ghana, Softcare sanitary pad and diapers remains the preferred choice for top female government appointees, business women, school girls and has been consistently recommended by female members of parliament to their constituents due to its premium quality, affordability and dignity assurance.

It has remained tax compliant and has carried out massive Corporate Social Responsibilities nationwide, making indelible marks in the lives of the vulnerable particularly in the under-developed communities for the past two decades.

This unmatched capacity qualifies the company as an ideal partner for the government’s free sanitary pad for SHS girls across the country, and must be the choice for the distributions.

The company which recently scaled up production to over 80 million pad packs annually, is poised to make a gigantic impact on the Ghanaian economy in the years ahead by expanding the scope of its CSR’s and increasing its workforce which has about 90 percent being local employees as well as making sure all girls and babies in Ghana have access to sanitary pads and diapers respectively.
