Sometimes I scream into my pillow – Michy on finding calm after chaos

Entrepreneur, singer, and actress Diamond Michelle Gbagonah, popularly known as Shatta Michy, has opened up about her personal growth, healing process, and how solitude has become an essential part of her life journey.

Speaking at a recent forum, the former partner of dancehall star Shatta Wale revealed that she has learned to embrace quiet moments as a source of strength and self-discovery.

“I would say I’m a good friend to solitude. I like to be with myself, analyze the situation I’m in at the moment, and sort of get it together before I get out,” Michy shared.

“I don’t go out when I’m all berserk, if I can say that. I journal a lot. I’d rather journal, pray, cry if I have to, which is very important. Once in a while, you’re allowed to crash out, but not for too long.”

She candidly admitted that even as a public figure, she experiences moments of emotional release, recalling a recent instance where she screamed into her pillow after a stressful day.

“It’s good to release the tension once in a while. Just a few days ago, I did actually go home after a stressful day and I screamed with my pillow,” she said with a smile.

“Then I’m out again, smiling, and everybody’s like, ‘Oh, you’re always so put together.’

“I’ve just probably gotten good at fixing myself, which I would attribute to my talents in being alone with myself and my thoughts.”
