The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested a school matron and a cook for allegedly stealing food items intended for students at Sefwi Bekwai STEM Senior High School in Awaso.
Acting on intelligence, a joint team of police officers, the area Member of Parliament, and the Municipal
Chief Executive conducted a search at the cook’s residence, recovering large quantities of food suspected to have been taken from the school’s food store and stored for sale.
During questioning, the cook implicated the matron, leading to her arrest at the school.
Police are now pursuing an assistant matron believed to be involved, who is currently on the run.
According to the Ghana Police Service, investigations are underway, and the suspect will face the law for the misconduct.
