The management of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has procured and handed over fresh operational vehicles for the refinery.
The new vehicles are to significantly enhance and strengthen the operational efficiency of the refinery.
They comprise eight brand new Mitsubishi pickups, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts and other essential vehicles to support the day-to-day activities of the refinery.
Handing over the vehicles to the company on Sunday [Jan 4, 2026], the Board Chairman of TOR, Nayon Bilijo, described the procurement of the vehicles as a timely logistical intervention at a critical moment, the company had for a long time been confronted with severe logistical constraints.
“The last instance the refinery benefited from such substantial logistical support from management dates back to 2013, and the prolonged absence of adequate operational logistics adversely affected productivity and slowed overall progress.
“Therefore, authorising the immediate deployment for official and operational use is most encouraging,” he said.
The board chairman indicated that just as all other works at TOR were paid for using the internally generated funds (IGF) of the company, the vehicles were also procured using the IGF generated from within the refinery in 2025.
