Tonight, I want to celebrate this remarkable woman whose vision continues to redraw the cultural map of the Black world, Lady Dentaa Amoateng, MBE. Dentaa Show

A woman of grace, strategy, and unshakeable purpose. A woman who has proven, time and again, that when Africa leads with unity, the world follows with admiration.
From Barbados to Ghana and across the global African diaspora, Lady Dentaa has demonstrated exceptional leadership, and the 2025 GUBA Awards, held in Barbados, stand as yet another masterpiece under her stewardship.
To successfully host an event that brought together His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, Heads of States, the Prime Minister of Barbados, the Prime Minister of Grenada, and powerful personalities from Africa and the Caribbean is no ordinary achievement. It takes influence, credibility, cultural intelligence, and above all, purpose-driven leadership.
What Lady Dentaa has done goes far beyond an event. She has created a bridge across the Atlantic, reconnecting Africans and the Caribbean family to a shared identity, our heritage, our dignity, and our roots. She chose Barbados intentionally: to remind the children of the diaspora that Africa never forgot them, and that the Golden Stool still welcomes its sons and daughters home.
This is not new to her.
In 2021, she brought GUBA home to Ghana to honour Nana Yaa Asantewaa, the legendary Warrior Queen and the most influential African woman of the 20th century. She celebrated her centenary with the reverence, excellence, and grand style befitting an Asante heroine.
Lady Dentaa’s work is a continuation of that same spirit, bold, brave, and unapologetically African.
I celebrate her today not only as the CEO of GUBA Awards, but as:
• A cultural diplomat
• A global unifier
• A proud daughter of Africa and Asante heritage
• A relentless advocate for Africa’s image
• A woman who invests her all, her time, her energy, even her personal resources, to elevate the continent.
Her journey reminds us that true leadership is not a title; it is impact. It is sacrifice. It is legacy.
Lady Dentaa Amoateng, MBE, I celebrate you.
For raising Africa’s flag with honour.
For connecting continents with purpose.
For showcasing Ghana to the world with pride.
And for proving that when African women lead, history listens.
Ayekoo, Ohemaa.
Your light continues to shine across nations.
