Residents of Adumasa in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region are living in fear following an armed robbery attack on gold buyers in the area.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, left six residents with gunshot injuries.

According to Hon. Agyapong Andrews, the Assembly Member for the area, the armed robbers, who were on a motorbike, made away with gold, a gold machine, and money.

He disclosed that the robbers fired their guns indiscriminately in the community, causing residents to flee for their lives.

In a daring chase, however, a courageous taxi driver chanced upon the robbers and hit them with his car.

The robbers were said to be three in number, but the taxi driver’s actions led to the arrest of two suspects, who have since been handed over to the Juaben Police Command.

The incident has left residents in shock, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent similar attacks in the future.

Police say investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect.
