The main transformation is the new electronic which include a derivative of the Raytheon AESA radar originally developed for the F-15 vs the ancient mechanical-scan radar currently on the B-52.
RTX it’s losing the engines but adding a new radar/cockpit suite.
The upgrade includes glass cockpit, Link 16, SATCOM, JSTARS and weapons like JASSM-ER, LRASM, and Hypersonic Missiles.
