Dick’s Sporting Goods completed a $ 2.4 billion acquisition of Foot Locker integrating 2,400 stores across 20 countries to Dick 850 U.S. locations, creating a network of over 3,200 stores worldwide.
The acquisition should bring $100+ million in annual efficiencies from shared supply chains, sourcing, and digital infrastructure.
Dick is maintaining Foot Locker full branding to avoid cannibalization and gaining access to a growing youth market beyond the U.S. market, where youth population growth is flat or declining through 2040.
With companies like Nike & Adidas increasing their prices to face upcoming tafiffs this acquisition may face tougher decisions earlier than expected, just my opinion !!
