Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has commended former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his effective management of the COVID-19 pandemic during his time in office.

Speaking in an interview on The Delay Show hosted by Deloris Frimpong Manso, Mr Kufuor said Ghana’s response to the pandemic compared favourably with global efforts, praising the Akufo-Addo administration for its handling of the crisis.

“Akufo-Addo managed COVID-19 well,” the former President said. “From what I saw, it was better.”

Mr Kufuor did not elaborate extensively on specific interventions, but his comments suggest approval of the government’s public health measures, containment strategies and overall coordination during the peak of the pandemic.

Ghana, like many countries, faced significant health and economic challenges during the COVID-19 outbreak, including restrictions on movement, pressure on the health system and economic disruptions.

The Akufo-Addo administration rolled out a series of measures, including lockdowns in affected areas, public health education campaigns and vaccination efforts, aimed at curbing the spread of the virus.
