A Ghanaian social media influencer known as Lopez is reportedly in legal trouble following a viral video where she made some serious claims about a Member of Parliament.
The TikToker alleged in her now-controversial post that Vincent Ekow Assafuah, who serves as the MP for Old Tafo, was romantically involved with her.
Her video quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking all sorts of reactions from netizens.
But here’s where things get interesting, the MP isn’t taking these allegations lying down.
According to sources close to the matter, Assafuah has firmly denied ever meeting or knowing Lopez personally.
He’s apparently baffled about how she got hold of his contact details, which she used to supposedly create the conversation screenshots she shared online.
“She claims we were dating, but I’ve never even set eyes on this woman,” the MP reportedly said, visibly frustrated by the whole situation.
“The bigger question is how she got my number and fabricated these chat logs.”
The lawsuit, which is said to be in the works, could have serious implications for the TikToker if the MP decides to pursue legal action for defamation.
Neither party has made any official statements regarding the lawsuit at this time, but social media is already divided, with some supporting the MP’s right to protect his reputation, while others think Lopez might have been misunderstood.
