The Western North Regional Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly setting fire to the house of his girlfriend, leading to the tragic death of three people at Subrinkwanta in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.

The suspect, Kwaku Numatekpor, popularly known as “On God,” allegedly set fire to the home of his girlfriend following a strain in their relationship.

The incident left 19-year-old Benedicta Cudjo, a student, her 60-year-old mother, Mary Oppong, and her 22-year-old sister, Dora Cudjo, with severe burns.

According to the police, Benedicta Cudjo was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Her mother, Mary Oppong, also died at the Anhwiaso Community Hospital.

Dora Cudjo, who was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment, was also confirmed dead.
