The Ghana Police Service has arrested four men in connection with an alleged assault on a woman at Ashongman Estate in Accra involving staff of Bills Microfinance.
According to the Accra Regional Police Command, the incident was reported on March 13, 2026, by 42-year-old Hagar Emaser.
The victim, Hagar Emaser, reported the incident on March 13, 2026, stating that four officials from the microfinance company, from whom she had taken a loan, showed up at her home demanding repayment.
During the confrontation, she alleges they physically assaulted her.
The suspects, identified as Denis Wornyo (38), Albert Amarh (40), Ebenezer Amartei (23), and Atsu Lawson (27), were picked up on March 14 and are currently in custody assisting with investigations.
The arrest follows public outrage after a video of the alleged assault went viral, sparking conversations about the tactics used by some loan recovery agents.
Police have assured the public that the investigation will be thorough and justice will be served.
