“We Will Curse You with ‘Nananom Abosom’ (ancestral gods) If You Don’t Pay Us By March” — Cocoa Farmer Drops Strong Warning To Mahama.

A cocoa farmer in Manso Nkwanta has issued a fiery warning to former President John Dramani Mahama over the delayed payment of cocoa farmers’ funds, threatening spiritual action if their money is not released by the end of March.

The angry farmer, who did not hide his frustration, was seen in a viral video pouring schnapps while invoking the gods of the land to back his warning.

According to him, failure by Mahama to ensure payment before the March deadline would force them to call on the Nananom Abosom (ancestral gods) to curse him.

“If by the end of March, we don’t receive our money, we will have no choice but to invoke the spirits to deal with him,” the farmer fumed in the video.

He also took a swipe at Randy Abbey, accusing him of knowing nothing about agriculture and, therefore, having no right to speak on matters affecting farmers.

The farmer’s outburst comes at a time when the Minority Caucus, led by Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP Frank Annoh-Dompreh, is touring cocoa communities in the Ashanti Region to engage with aggrieved farmers.

The tour aims to assess the struggles cocoa farmers are facing under the current economic conditions, with many complaining of delayed payments and poor pricing policies.

The farmer’s strong words reflect the growing tension and dissatisfaction within the cocoa sector, with many farmers feeling abandoned and frustrated by the political class.
