“Taking Legal Actions This Time Around” – Aba Dope Responds to Viral Complaint Over Seafood Portion and Price

Ghanaian TikTok sensation and CEO of Food Gist and Fill Innz Restaurants, Aba Dope, has addressed criticism from a customer who complained about the portion and pricing of her seafood meals.

The incident, which went viral online, involved a video in which a customer showed the portion of a seafood meal that came with a pack of fried rice and expressed dissatisfaction with both the portion size and the GH₵800 price. In response, Aba Dope shared a screenshot of their chat, highlighting where she asked the customer why the complaint was necessary, noting that her seafood meals have sold for GH₵250 for years, with the GH₵800 price applied only for family and friends packages.

In the caption accompanying the screenshot, Aba Dope emphasized her commitment to her business and customer service:

“Taking legal actions this time around. We had a woman-to-woman conversation for eight minutes. People choose me because I have one of the best customer services, I’m humble, and above all, I don’t play with my business. They patronize efforts, hard work, healthy made meals—they patronize the hustle.”

She also reflected on female solidarity, questioning why women often undermine other women despite their efforts:

“Why is it that it’s women always doing this? Aren’t we supposed to protect each other? What happened to all the values we talk about? Women want to see other women fail so badly despite all the energy and hard work we put in—why?”

Aba Dope further clarified her pricing, noting that her meals start at GH₵250 and the GH₵800 option is only for family and friends packages. She added:

“Why so much hate? When will we start appreciating women who work tirelessly? This is sad. I will keep praying because I promise you I’m not giving up. I have wonderfully made people who cherish me and support my hustle genuinely. If I give up, I would be letting down their trust.”

This is not the first time Aba Dope has faced criticism over food portions. Earlier in the year, another customer lamented the portion of food from her restaurants, which she believes were deliberate actions aimed at pulling her down. Despite these challenges, she continues to focus on her loyal supporters and maintaining the quality of her products and services.
