Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority has confiscated several unregistered products during an enforcement operation at Porials Pitch 3.

According to a statement shared on the FDA’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, its Enforcement Team carried out the exercise at the popular retail event to protect consumers from potentially harmful goods.

The agency noted that the move forms part of its ongoing mandate to ensure that all products on the market, particularly food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, meet required safety and regulatory standards.

Porials Pitch, a fast-growing marketplace event that attracts large crowds of vendors and shoppers, has recently come under increased scrutiny as authorities intensify efforts to safeguard public health.

The FDA has urged traders to comply with registration requirements and advised the public to remain vigilant when purchasing products, especially at large-scale sales events.
