The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor has reaffirmed government’s commitment to restoring stable electricity supply following a recent fire outbreak at the Akosombo Substation, which disrupted operations and resulted in the loss of over 1,000 megawatts of power to the national grid.

During the inspection, he engaged with engineers and technical personnel working on-site, many of whom have been operating under intense pressure to bring the system back online.
He expressed deep admiration for their dedication and resilience, noting that their commitment reflects the highest standards of national service.
“I have been deeply impressed by their unwavering commitment, courage, and professionalism in the face of such a challenging situation,” the Minister stated, commending the teams for their sacrifice and determination.
He further assured the workers of the government’s full backing as they continue efforts to restore operations at the substation, a critical component of Ghana’s power infrastructure.
Addressing the general public, the Minister appealed for patience and understanding, emphasizing that authorities are deploying all available resources to ensure the swift restoration of stable electricity supply across the country.
