Eleven illegal miners have been arrested in the Aowin municipality of the Western North region. The suspects were apprehended by the Blue Water Guard team during an operation at the Tano Nimiri Forest Reserve near Omanpe community. According to information from the team’s commander, Desmond Armoh, the operation was carried out on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, following intelligence about ongoing galamsey activities in the forest reserve. The Takoradi-Agona road contractor, Justice Amoh has said government has assured his company, Justmoh Construction Limited of payment of debt soon to enable completion of the ongoing project. The Mortuaries and Funeral Facilities Agency (MoFFA) has issued a directive to all unlicensed mortuaries and funeral homes, both public and private to regularize their operations within a week from the date of its notice. Residents of Adumasa in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region are living in fear following an armed robbery attack on gold buyers in the area.
