    Parliament of Ghana (2025)

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has issued a Constitutional Instrument to commence the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

In accordance with the powers vested in the Speaker by Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution, he has scheduled Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon, as the date for the House to resume from recess.

The session will be held at Parliament House in Accra.

The letter dated January 19, 2026 and signed by the Speaker, directs all Members of Parliament (MPs) to resume parliamentary duties and the nation’s legislative business.

With the start of the Second Session, government business—including debates on bills, approvals, and executive oversight will continue.

Key legislative agendas and outstanding issues from the previous session are anticipated to be discussed during the session.

All MPs are expected to be present when the House returns from its recess to carry out its constitutional obligations.
