Ghana is set to make a strong impression on the global academic stage as two exceptional students have been selected to represent the country at prestigious international competitions.
Yaw Omane Boamah, son of the late Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, has earned a place at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) after excelling in a highly competitive national selection process. His outstanding performance distinguished him among hundreds of candidates nationwide.
He will be joined by fellow student Qi Wang of Ghana International School. Both students emerged as part of a final group selected from over 600 participants drawn from more than 100 schools across the country.
Their selection highlights Ghana’s growing investment in science and mathematics education, with high expectations as they prepare to represent the nation on the global stage at both the IMO and the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
