Hybrid L2 BOB Enables 1-Click Native BTC Transfers Across 11 Major Chains

Build on Bitcoin (BOB), a hybrid Layer two (L2) blockchain, launched BOB Gateway, a one-click on- and offramp that connects native bitcoin to Bitgo’s wBTC.OFT across 11 Layerzero-supported blockchains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, BNB Chain, Unichain, Optimism, Sei, and BOB.

The update — powered by BOB’s Bitcoin intents system and Layerzero’s OFT standard — enables instant native BTC ↔ wBTC.OFT transfers and gives nearly 15,000 decentralized applications on those chains the ability to accept direct bitcoin deposits via a Gateway SDK. BOB said the integration simplifies cross-chain flows by replacing complex bridging processes with a streamlined conversion that injects fresh BTC liquidity into decentralized finance (DeFi) while preserving regulated custody backing for every wBTC token. BOB co-founder Alexei Zamyatin and Layerzero’s Simon Baksys both highlighted improved access and user experience as central benefits, while the company pointed to expanded support for chains such as Soneium, Bera, Sonic and others as furthering onramps to Bitcoin DeFi.
