A 22-year-old US-based Ghanaian has been arrested and charged along with two others for the murder of a 21-year-old man during a shooting that occurred in the 15200 block of Potomac Town Pl in Woodbridge (22191) on 2nd October, 2025.

George Kwasi Attakora, according to the Prince William County Police Department, was arrested in Stafford County after it was established that he was complicit in the crime.

The investigation revealed the three suspects, including Shawki Saah Fofanah and Musa Abraham Sesay targeted or otherwise assisted in the confrontation with the victim at the above location that ultimately led to his death.

Additionally, as part of the ongoing investigation, search warrants were executed at residences located in Dumfries and Stafford County, Washington DC, and the City of Surprise in Arizona. This investigation was aided with the law enforcement assistance from members of the FBI’s Phoenix field office, the Peoria Police Department, and the Surprise Police Department in Arizona, the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington DC, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Shawki Saah Fofanah has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, one count of malicious wounding, and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Musa Abraham Sesay, on the other hand, has been charged with one count of accessory before the fact, and George Kwasi Attakora charged with one count of principal in the second degree.

It would be recalled that on October 2 at about 10:48PM, officers responded to Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center located in the 15200 block of Potomac Town Pl in Woodbridge (22191), to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived in the area, two men were located with gunshot injuries. The initial investigation revealed one of the injured parties, identified as a 21-year-old man, had been shot multiple times outside of the Alamo Drafthouse during an encounter with another individual. Officers located the victim on the sidewalk near the location where first aid was provided. Fire and rescue personnel responded to further treat the victim, who ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, an 18-year-old man sustained a non-life-threatening grazed wound to the lower body during the encounter. The suspect reportedly left the area immediately after the shooting and was not located. Preliminarily, this incident does not appear random. Detectives are asking anyone with any information, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
