Whether You Like It or Not, You Will Go Down in 2026” – Obinim Claims Vision About Kufuor

A prophetic declaration made by Bishop Daniel Obinim during his 31st Watch Night service ushering Ghana into 2026 has sparked intense public debate and widespread reactions across social media and religious circles. Speaking during the crossover service from 2025 to 2026, the controversial founder and

leader of the International God’s Way Church claimed he received a disturbing spiritual vision involving former President John Agyekum Kufuor, urging Ghanaians to pray fervently for the statesman.

In a video aired by Royal TV, Bishop Obinim stated that, whether people “like it or not,” something significant and troubling could happen to the former president within the year 2026 if prayers are not intensified. He explained that the revelation was not motivated by personal feelings, politics, or ill will, but rather a spiritual vision he felt compelled to share for national concern.

According to the preacher, the vision initially showed the former president standing calmly and waving, a moment he described as peaceful. However, he claimed the scene suddenly changed when the background behind Kufuor turned dark and black, which he interpreted as a sign of looming danger or spiritual distress. Obinim said the vision deeply unsettled him and convinced him that remaining silent would be irresponsible.

He emphasized that his message was not intended to instill fear or disrespect a revered elder statesman but to encourage intercessory prayers. He called on churches, prayer groups, and individuals to pray earnestly for Kufuor’s life, health, and protection throughout the year, stressing that prophetic warnings are meant to prevent calamity rather than announce it.

The prophecy has drawn mixed reactions, with supporters urging prayer and critics warning against public prophecies involving national figures. So far, neither the former president nor his family has responded publicly, as the declaration continues to fuel debate about prophecy, responsibility, and religious influence in modern Ghana.
