Chairman Criticizes NDC Government’s Contractor Support.

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Chairman for Nkoranza North, Hon. Amofa Asarfo-Agyei Emmanuel (Chairman Amofa), has constructively criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s support for contractors, saying that when his party was in power, contractors did not receive adequate support compared to those working with the current NDC government.

This statement was made during an interview with Apiah-Kubi on Fabea FM, highlighting the perceived disparity in treatment between contractors under the NPP and NDC administrations.

“To be honest with you, the contractors this government is using are far better than the contractors we were using at our time,” Chairman Amofa expressed.

In a surprising twist, Chairman Amofa added that President Mahama’s led NDC government has done far better in terms of financial discipline, scoring him fifty percent (50%).

He explained by highlighting a significant drop in fuel prices, exchange rate, inflation, and debt-to-GDP ratio, including a reduction in the average lending rate (cost of borrowing), and the gradual recovery from the effects of the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme on citizens.

“During our time, we couldn’t find a way to ease things for Ghanaians unlike the NDC is doing today, and we need self-discipline to support the government,” Chairman Amofa recounted.

“Nkoranza North has significantly battled for development, especially road networks. The NPP did what they could, and the NDC is currently making surprising progress to abate the challenges, including health, education, and other infrastructural developments,” he stressed.

On the issue of NPP internal elections for the flagbearer race, he bemoaned the way contestants’ supporters are criticizing their opponents.

He said the attacks and insults are a humiliation to the party and will affect the party’s strategy to win power in 2028.

He appealed to the leaders of the party and the members to cease the bad habit.
