The Nkoranza North District Assembly has officially handed over the site for the construction of an ultra-modern 24-hour economy market at Kranka in the Bono East Region.
Hon. Effah Patrick (Patoo), the District Chief Executive (DCE), said the initiative is expected to boost commercial activities and improve the local economy.
The project forms part of the NDC government’s 24-hour economy policy aimed at driving economic transformation.
The official ceremony was held on May 13, 2026, and brought together Assembly officials, traditional authorities, contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and community members.

He noted that the modern market facility reflects the Assembly’s commitment to infrastructural development and local economic empowerment, particularly for traders in the Kranka enclave.
“The NDC government is committed to addressing the challenges in our areas, particularly roads, school infrastructure, health facilities, and this market,” Hon. Effah Patrick stated.
He added that the project would provide a well-structured, conducive trading environment to support continuous commercial activities in line with the government’s 24-hour economy vision.
“The market will include a nursery school, clinic, fire service station, police post, pharmacy, and a bank,” he said.
The project will be constructed by 2K Planners Construction and is expected to be completed within two and a half years.
Hon. Effah Patrick commended President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to infrastructure and economic development across the country.
He also expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, for his continued support of the district’s development agenda.
He concluded by reaffirming the Assembly’s determination to pursue policies and projects that stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and improve the socio-economic well-being of the people.
