Presidential hopeful Kwabena Agyepong has announced that he will officially file his nomination to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearership on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

“Tomorrow, I will officially file my nomination to contest the NPP flagbearership,” he declared in a statement.

“I am inviting all patriots, friends, and well-wishers to join us as I take this bold step towards principled leadership and a NEW DAWN for Ghana.

“Let’s stand together for service, selflessness, and sacrifice. Your presence matters.”

His announcement comes as the NPP’s flagbearer race continues to heat up with leading contenders preparing to file their nominations this week.

Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong, a former legislator, is set to submit his nomination forms on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

According to sources close to his camp, he will file the forms at the party headquarters at exactly 1 pm, accompanied by his wife and members of his campaign team.

On the other hand, the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate and former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will file his nomination forms on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

He is expected at the party headquarters at 8 am, joined by his wife, leading members of his campaign, and several Members of Parliament backing his bid.

The NPP opened nominations for aspirants on July 29, 2025, and the deadline for filing is Thursday, August 28, 2025.
