Ghana’s Ambassador to Washington, Victor Smith, has assured President John Dramani Mahama that the newly sworn-in envoys will work tirelessly to advance Ghana’s interests abroad, with a strong focus on economic diplomacy.
Speaking on behalf of the envoys after their swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Smith said the diplomats were determined to build on the foundation laid by the administration and deliver on its promises to the people of Ghana.
“We pledge that your efforts will not be in vain. We will persist through hell and high water to build on the steady foundation you have laid and are committed to deliver on the promises we made to the good people of Ghana,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of global economic ties in today’s geopolitical environment, Mr. Smith stressed that trade, investment, and innovation would form the core of the envoys’ work.
“In this current geopolitical landscape, sound economic strategy is of crucial importance. Our relationships with other nations lie in the dynamism of the economic ties. Trade, investment, and innovation will be our focus to enrich lives and create jobs in Ghana. We will work to deepen these economic partnerships around the world to create strong and enduring alliances,” he noted.
He further pledged that the envoys would pursue a more transactional approach to diplomacy, seeking practical opportunities to deliver tangible benefits for Ghana and its people.
