Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of celebrated highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

In a heartfelt message shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia described Daddy Lumba’s death as a tremendous loss not only to Ghana’s music industry but to the nation as a whole.

“I have received the saddening news of the passing of a true music icon, whose remarkable career spanned more than three decades. Charles Kwadwo Fosu, known to many as Daddy Lumba, was a pillar of Ghanaian highlife music. He nurtured and introduced many talented artists to the scene,” he wrote.

Dr. Bawumia praised the late musician for his exceptional compositions and lasting impact, stating that his music has entertained, inspired, and uplifted generations of Ghanaians.

“His passing is indeed a huge blow, not only to the music fraternity but to the entire country,” he said, adding, “Samira and I extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, family, fans, and the whole country. LEGEND, REST WELL.”
